Leuven

the Botanical Garden in May

Talking about Leuven is talking about its University. The Catholic University of Leuven was founded in 1425; 30% of Leuven's city centre buildings are part of this institution: an emphatic and creative presence.

During the tour on foot we see the Town Hall with its 236 statues on the facades, St Peter's church with "the Last Supper" by the Flemish Primitive Dirk Bouts.

Leuven has the biggest Beguinage in Belgium, full of small brick buildings which are all still in use. Anheuser Busch InBev, the biggest beer brewing company in the world has its head office in Leuven. In the centre you can visit the home brewery Domus.
